A very incisive analysis. I would like you to know that a small Maoist group in Uttarakhand are being inspired by Nepal Maoists. In near future they are likely to adopt armed struggle.

Undoubtedly one of the deepest and most incisive analyses. The question that I would put to you is as follows:
The plan of action, or the remedies, that you have suggeted is a very tall order for our government. I would like to hear your views on what could happen if the government fails to stand tall to the challenge (which anyway is most likely)?

I have a point to debate. The state is responsible to fight the Maoists. If you try to get people involved there can be civil war. Do you wan one in India? You have so many problems to handle. Better tighten up the state machineries.

I live in Midnapore, very near to the heartland of Maoist activities. Midnapore is very near to the state capital. Barring Haldia complex no industrial venture has been taken up. Nandigram complex effort was scuttled by joint action of Mamata and Maoists. Mamata has not spelt out what better proposal she has for west Midnaporte. Congress and CPM have messed up all development works. People are in dire poverty. Can Mamata ask her Maoist allies to stop depradation and can she influence Delhi to give better development projects to Weat and East Midnapore? That only will orove that she is not a mere shrill shouter. We havev not seen anything constructive in her so far. Why is she encouraging the Maoists?
