It is from a Greek source and it mentions 7 castes in India at the time (Chandragupta Maurya's time) but does not mention a word about untouchables.  It means that untouchability was a recent invention when compared with the vastness of Indian history. We don't know how this inhuman practice started. As you said it is the duty of RSS and VHP to campaign for the abolishing of untouchability from the Hindu society. People like Ram Sena must first read Ramayana. Ramayana mentions that even Lord Ram drank wine.  The ancient Tamil poetess Avvaiyaar mentions in one of her poem that the king offered her the best meat and the best wine.
