Dear Sir,

I am a Bangladeshi Hindu left Bangladesh as I could not take the day to day humilation/oppression for being a Hindu there anymore and settled in a developed country.

But this is not what I can acccept. Someday I wish to return and live where I belong to.

Do you feel someday a situation will be created when I can go back and live there peacefully in a secular environment?

Since you are originally from East Bengal I think you feel the same pain as I feel.

But you did not need to leave the sub-continent, I had to.

“Bangabandhu” Mujib himself was no great friend of India. He was a closet Islamist and wanted “occupying forces” to leave as soon as he assumed power. People forget this.

Kudos to you Sir, for this most excellently researched article on the present developments in Bangladesh. From your opinions I can guess that your heart is in the right place. If you know this much, then we can only presume that our Government knows at least as much. This is the price we are paying for totally ‘neglecting’ our North Eastern areas since our Independence. Our allowing what happened to Shaikh Mujibur Rahman, (whether under covert U.S. pressure or not is not material) was in itself a clear indication of the complete helplessness (born of inherent incompetence) of our political leadership.
The incompetence and resultant helplessness continues. Watch their antics in the present ‘election mode’ !!
Admiral Gorshkov, while on a visit to the Indian military establishments in the mid-1950′s admitted with a smile, that he had become a believer in God! “I have seen quite a lot during my visits and no one but God must be running things”!!
